Gerald N. Herring, Jr., CPA
 

Mr. Gerald Herring (Jake) became a CPA in 1949, and established the firm in 1950.  He provides tax services for his clients, which include individuals, estates, trusts, and partnerships.  His experience covers every type of accounting situation for businesses, individuals, and farmers.

Mr. Herring graduated from the University of Georgia in 1947 with a BBA in Accounting, after serving 3 years in the U.S. Air Force.  He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Georgia Society of CPAs.

Mr. Herring has been a member of Tifton Rotary Club for over 60 years, holding various offices during most of that time.  He is a past member of the ABAC Foundation Board of Directors, and served for a number of years as finance chair for First United Methodist Church.  He was an instructor for the first continuing professional education class for CPAs ever offered in Tifton.


James H. Herring, CPA
 

James Herring is managing partner and has been with the firm since 1981. His tax planning and preparation services extend to individual, business, estate, gift, trust, and nonprofit tax returns. He offers a variety of additional services to small businesses, including audits, financial reporting, and financial analysis. James also has extensive experience in auditing, and consulting for local governments and nonprofits.

James is a graduate of the University of Georgia, with a BBA in Accounting (1981) and a Master of Accountancy (1983). He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Georgia Society of CPAs.

James is treasurer and past president of Tifton Rotary Club. He is past president and currently serves on the board of Hospice of Tiftarea. He is treasurer for the Tiftarea Academy board of directors, and volunteers with the Boy Scouts. He has served as finance chair for First United Methodist Church.


Charles W. Powell, III, CPA
 

Charles Powell joined the firm in 1971 and became a CPA and a partner in 1974.  He provides consulting, tax and estate planning services to a broad client base, including small businesses, farmers, and individuals.  He specializes in debt restructuring and business reorganization, and assists clients in all aspects of negotiation, buy-outs, and refinancing.

Charles graduated from Valdosta State College with a BBA in Accounting in 1971.  He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Georgia Society of CPAs.

Charles is a member of Tifton Rotary Club, where he served as treasurer for 25 years.  He has been instrumental in attracting industry to the Tiftarea in his roles as past president and treasurer of the Tifton-Tift County Chamber of Commerce. He is a past member of Tifton Sertoma Club and Tifton Jaycees.


Tony Quinney, CPA
 

Tony Quinney has been a partner with the firm since the late 1980’s and provides a broad range of accounting services. Tony’s extensive knowledge in tax-related matters covers the agricultural, retail, professional, and construction industries. He also has experience in estate and gift tax planning. He has provided assistance to clients in business management, loan packages, budgeting, and financial planning. For many years Tony has been involved in government and nonprofit auditing and consulting.

Tony has been a CPA since 1970 and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Georgia Society of CPAs.

Tony serves on the board and is past treasurer of Tifton Sertoma Club. He also serves as a board member and treasurer of Tiftarea Sportsman Club.


Jane L. Gray, CPA
 

Jane Gray became a member of the firm in 1989 and has been a partner since 1995. She provides tax planning and tax preparation services to individual and business clients. In addition, she provides services in financial planning and estate planning.

Jane graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia in 1976 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. She has been a CPA since 1993, and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Georgia Society of CPAs.

Jane is a member of Tifton Rotary Club and its board of directors. She also serves as finance chair for First United Methodist Church.


Brenda T. McAllister, CPA
 

Brenda McAllister has been a CPA since 1982 and joined the firm in 2000. Her experience includes nonprofit, small business, and governmental auditing, as well as a variety of services in tax-related areas. She specializes in personal financial management, which involves helping individuals manage crisis situations, develop a budget, and create a plan to save money and reduce debt.

Brenda graduated cum laude from Valdosta State College in 1979 with a BBA in Accounting and completed Dave Ramsey’s Certified Counselor Training Program in 2008. She is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Georgia Society of CPAs.

Brenda has conducted seminars in personal finance and has coordinated numerous Financial Peace University classes. She serves as treasurer on the board of directors for Tiftarea Pregnancy Care Center.


R. Chad Alexander, CPA
 

Chad Alexander joined the firm in 1997 and has been a CPA since 2000. He is experienced in tax planning and preparation for individuals, partnerships, and small businesses. His professional focus consists of auditing nonprofit and governmental entities, and SPLOST performance reviews for public schools.

Chad is a 1992 graduate of Georgia Southern University, with a BBA in Accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Georgia Society of CPAs.

Chad serves on the Tift County Recreation Department Athletic Advisory Committee and on various committees of Tifton First Baptist Church. He is a board member and past president of Tifton Sertoma Club and currently serves on the board of Tiftarea Sportsman Club.


Brandon N. Montgomery, CPA, CSEP, CFE
 


David L. Deariso, CPA
 

David Deariso is a partner with the firm, joining in 1979. He has over 40 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on governmental auditing. He offers various tax and consulting services to individuals, small businesses, and professional offices, and has special familiarity with automobile dealerships.

David graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia in 1971 with a BBA in Accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Georgia Society of CPAs.
